The protocol / ActivationUpdated 30 Aug 2026

Activation.

An inactive Broker is a collectible. An activated Broker is a business. Activation is the one-off fee that turns the first into the second - until it transfers.

In plain English Paying the activation fee switches your Broker on: it starts collecting a weighted share of every Clock In reward round. Higher tiers cost more and earn more, but not proportionally - the ladder gets steeper as you climb. Half of every fee is burned forever, the rest goes to the protocol, and none of it is refundable. Sell the Broker and the activation dies with the sale.

The five tiers

Fees are paid in $STONKBROKER to the Activation Manager (0xacd5ae3c060c1137fe2ee86b0ab2ef697456f664). Weights determine your share of each reward round. Official tier table:

TierFee (STONK)WeightWeight per STONK vs Base
Base (T0)66,666100x1.00 - the benchmark
T1166,666125x0.50
T2366,666160x0.29
T3666,666200x0.20
T41,666,666333x0.13
Read the ladder carefully T4 costs 25 times as much as Base but earns only 3.33 times the weight. Every step up buys weight at a worse rate than the step below - that is the design, not a bug. Two useful framings the community uses: upgrading is paying a premium for yield density on a single NFT, and spreading the same spend across more Base-tier Brokers buys more total weight. Neither is advice; know which trade you are making.

Where the fee goes

What "deactivation" actually means

There is no deactivate button you would ever want to press. Deactivation happens to you, in exactly one way: any true ownership transfer clears activation automatically. The NFT contract calls clearActivation inside its transfer logic, with no custody exceptions - the developers' own source comment: "Activation must reset on every true ownership transfer - with no custody exceptions." This has been verified onchain: cleared Brokers emit ActivationCleared and must pay the full fee again to rejoin the rounds.

The consequences ripple through the whole system:

The state of activation

As of the 28 August 2026 census: 1,830 of 4,444 Brokers were activated (41.2%), with total active weight 21,128,800. The tier mix leans heavily to the bottom rung: Base is 81% of activations, T4 just over 3%. Wallet-held Brokers were 81% activated; vault Brokers 0% (by construction, as above).
